A soccer star who once played for the U.S. Women’s National Team has just signed a 4 year deal in Sweden … and she says it’s so she won’t have to live in America while Trump is president.
The athlete is Ella Masar – an American-born winger who played for Team USA in 2009. She went on to play pro soccer in the U.S. for several years before signing a deal with FC Rosengard in Sweden back in Dec. 2015.
But after Trump won the election, Masar told a Swedish media outlet she ain’t coming back until Trump is out of office.
“I actually went in to see [FC Rosengård management] and asked to sign on for another four years at the club so I do not have to go back to the U.S. with Donald Trump as president.”
Masar — a democrat who’s married to her FC Rosengard teammate Erin McLeod — also says she’s had a beef with Trump for a while.
“I’ve actually met him once. We had to [meet him] for an Easter dinner and I thought then that he was a scary man.”
She added, “I’m also happy that I even have a Canadian passport.”
