Even a legend like Motown founder Berry Gordy screws up sometimes, and he admits the late great Marvin Gaye saved him from a huge misstep that could’ve changed music history.
Berry tried like hell to steer Marvin away from recording “What’s Going On” — too political for the early 70s, he thought — but he explained how Gaye finally won the argument.
